So I finally managed to get some internet and wrote this article about our first day, which we spent in Auckland. We arrived here at 6am, so we rented a car right away and got on the road. The first stop was Mt. Eden, 196 m tall remain of a volcano, from where we could see the whole city. From there, we drove to the downtown, where we walked the whole Queen Street all the way to the harbour. But since we were sooo tired from being on the plane for almost 30 hours, we called it today at about 2pm and went to the hotel to take a nap. Well, we woke up at 3am the next day..:D So we got back to the city the next day. We checked out the Albert Park and One Tree Hill. And the overall impression? Unbelievable cleanness, dozens of parks with yogins, joggers and just sitting and hanging around retirees, relaxed and easy-going mood, sun and 25°C. I wanna live in that city!
I’m enclosing a map of our 3-week roadtrip, so I hope we will make that!
Stay tuned for the next article, which will be from the Coromandel penninsula!
