My climbing equipment

Hey travellers!

A few times you’ve already asked me, if I could fix an article about what I take with me on the road when travelling. We spontaneously decided on Friday evening to leave for a weekend trip to the High Tatras, so I took some pictures of my hiking gear.

Of course it depends on the kind of the trip, but lately we rather do treks and sleep under the tent than go to the beaches and sleep in a hotel, so the basis is a good pair of trekking shoes. I have a few of those, but this time I decided to take my Gore-Tex Garmonts, which I already have for a really long time, but they still serve great. I bought a new backpack about a week ago, so I’m quite excited about it. It is 80-liters Karrimor that I bought on sale at Sports Direct. We are also taking crampons, because we do not know how the terrain will look like. I got new trekking poles by Leki, so I’m looking forward to using them 🙂 Our tent is self-deployable – is indeed bulky, but it really takes about 10 seconds to pitch it. Of course there are sleeping bags as well, but they didn’t fit in the picture 🙂 What I never forget is my Canon and GoPro (In the picture, there is my boyfriend’s Nikon, I had to take the picture with my camera, hahaa:). If we are limited by the weight and space in our backpacks, I take only the wide-angle lens, otherwise mostly all lenses that I have 🙂 Concerning the hiking clothing, I have everything by Adidas, with their great ClimaHeat technology – specifically my leggings, t-shirt and sweatshirt. I’m still seeking the right jacket though (does anyone have any good suggestion?:)), this time I took my old Horsefeathers windbreaker. I can’t be missing my favorite Flapjack bars and chewing gums when hiking and usually I take my compass as well, which I got from my boyfriend.

And that is about it. If you wonder about anything else, let me know in the comments 🙂

The next article will be about the trip itself, so stay tuned!

Have a great Sunday!
E.
