Hey everyone!

Considering I just bought eight dresses, I decided on wearing only dresses this summer. I own so many of them, that I could wear different ones every day! Hahaha:) And even that is not enough for me. That’s why I decided to try to design a couple of my own pieces. Lately, I haven’t been satisfied with the big chain clothing brands, and I’m getting more and more sick & tired of seeing a girl in the same dress on the street.

For example, last week I bought pants in Zara. It was in the morning, so I had to carry my bag all day with me, and in the evening I went for dinner with my friend and I then I had to take a cab back home. Of course, I left my new pants in the cab and despite dozens of phone calls, nobody could understand how much they meant to me and they were never found. After a week I went to Zara again and bought them for the second time. The next day I was wearing them and was walking in them for about 20 minutes. In those 20 minutes, I saw the same pants on the FIVE girls. Well, it really drove me crazy.

So I decided to do something about it. I decided to try to design some clothes. Primarily for myself (hahaha being selfish haha), but if you guys like the pieces too, I think it wouldn’t be a problem to make a couple of more pieces. Of course I don’t know how to sew, but I can learn that, right? Or I could ask a dressmaker for some help. Don’t you guys know someone? Or doesn’t any of you work in some textile company?

I have a very clear idea of how my collections should look like. Minimalist, but interestingly cut. No prints or signs. No bright colors, just black, white, gray, burgundy, khaki. These are my favorite colors. I’d make a few dresses, skirts and tops, and maybe some swimsuits? I would like to make some fitness apparel as well, because Nike and Adidas are too mainstream for me. Also, it’s about 985446 times more likely to have the same leggings as someone else in a gym. So I’m already working on several leggings, shorts, tops and bras.

And what about you guys? What do you think about the big fashion chains? Does it also make you mad when you see people in the same clothes? And what do you miss the most in the big stores? Whether they’re specific pieces or maybe quality? And what do you think of my idea? Is it real? :)) Has anyone designed their own clothes? Is it complicated? I will be happy for any tips!

E.
