After the last post about how disappointed I was about Blausee, I have write about a more epic place. I criticized Blausee for being an absolute tourist attraction. St. Beatus is the opposite. The parking is the proof because it’s more or less unsolved and you actually have to park on the side of the main road, which is very busy.
Overlooking Thunersee, you can admire a kind of stone castle in a rockwall. The entrance to the castle grounds is free of charge, but if you would like to visit the caves, which are a part of this place, take your wallet with you. The whole area can be explored in about 15 minutes, but we spent at St. Beatus about an hour because this thing kept us fascinated.
