Corippo – old Swiss village made of slate

corippo

Hello everyone!

In the last article I wrote about a bath in Lavertezzo and mentioned the town of Corippo. But in the end I decided that this little town deserves a separate short article.

Corippo has a total of 12 inhabitants. We found it super interesting because it’s all made of slate, so it’s beautiful to look at. By car you can go all the way up to the village gate and then walk around & explore the “streets”. We were lucky enough to meet a couple of locals, so we imagined out how their ordinary day looks like. Another interesting thing is that they have 0% unemployment here. Quite frankly, I can’t imagine what these people do for a living, because it looked like they were living in the last millennium.

Anyway, be sure to stop by on the way to Lavertezzo, it’s definitely worth the experience!

E.
