Have you seen the movie Wild with Reese Witherspoon? If not, watch it and then read the rest of this article. If yes, I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do in the next couple of days.

In mid-August, I’m leaving to Sweden with Fjällräven for a 110 km trek through the polar circle. We should make it in one week. I’m flying to Kiruna, a town in northern Sweden, also known as Lapland, and when I was looking at the map where this town actually is, I found it to be just a short drive from Sarek National Park and the Lofoten Islands.

For about five years, Lofoten Islands and Sarek have been my biggest dream, so I wrote an email to Sweden to Fjällräven asking to postpone my return flight for a week, so I could rent a car and drive those 400 km to Lofoten. I didn’t even think it could work. About five minutes after sending that email, I got a call from a Swedish number. I was expecting to hear that it wasn’t possible.

Instead, some Philipp, the Head of PR International Fjällräven, started talking to me on the phone about how great the idea is and that it’s not a problem at all, and what date exactly I want my return ticket to Prague. Two hours later, I got my flight tickets on my e-mail, from Prague to Kiruna on August 10th and from Kiruna to Prague on August 23rd.

So I’m gonna have two awesome weeks in Sweden and Norway. Now, why did I mention the movie? Well, I was thinking who to go with, and I came to the conclusion that I really want to go alone. I have a very positive and very special relationship with Norway and the North in general, and maybe I just want to experience this “cleansing” journey alone. I don’t want to talk to anyone and I just want to do what I want. Like sit all day long on a fjord and watch the waves crash into the shores. No, I didn’t go crazy, I just need some time off. I’m really really looking forward to it, and I’m really interested about what it’s like, to be alone. This is going to be quite a different trip from all my travels. However, it definitely doesn’t mean that I won’t take pictures or shoot videos! 🙂

The thing is, you can’t get to Sarek by car, because there are no roads. You have to park it outside of the park and walk for two days just to get to those awesome places, so I’ll have to walk fast since I only have a week for both Lofoten and Sarek, which won’t be easy after those 110 km, but neither Sweden nor Norway has high mountains, so it might not be so bad. I will sleep (finally legally! Hhahaha:) in the tent.

But where I won’t go alone is Giorgia. But I can’t find anyone to come with us! The plan is a two-week hike across the Georgian and Armenian mountains, but also Tbilisi and Yerevan. If anyone wants to join, let me know wherever. The more people, the better, you know for safety reasons. Right now it’s just me and my mom, but two women themselves in the wilderness isn’t a good idea, so we’d love to put together a group of 5-8 people – women, men, young, old, all! 🙂

Alright, I’m off packing to the Dolomites, leaving in a week! :))))
